got a RO question. i have a BRS 5 stage:

i made some "faucets" using a ball valve and the end of the RO line. also put a T in before the DI canister with another line/faucet coming off of it for drinking water

i was wondering if it would hurt the RO system to leave the ball valve on the "water in" line in the on position and just leave the ball valves on the "clean water out" line in the off position.

hahah. nevermind. it would just run out the waste line.

anyways the ball valves at the end of the lines help keep the mess down. no more water splashed all over the plave when i am done. the were pretty cheap at lowes.

As long as you have an autoshutoff valve that is the preferred way do it. All of my RO and RO/DI units stay under pressure all the time. Without th ASOV the waste continues to run as you discovered.
