Find out how many GPD the RO stage is. You want 75 GPD. Check out The Filter Guys. Lots of good information to be had.

You need DI right. RO isn't enough for pure clean water for reef tanks. Is this right???

You should use DI. DI is more expensive, and RODI is just DI water with an RO stage before the DI stage. The RO gets out the majority of the junk, while the DI removes the rest.

The reason you want a RODI system is that the DI stage will burn through more quickly if you don't have RO removing the majority. For example, on a typical RO with typical water, you'll have 200 TDS water. The RO part should remove 190+ of that, while the DI remove the rest. If the DI removed all 200 itself, you'd have to buy a new DI cartridge 40 times more often, and DI resin is super expensive compared to running an RO.

I wouldn't go with the eBay unit either, it's junk. I would go with Spectrapure, Bulk Reef Supply, or a few others that will inevitably be mentioned in this thread. I have a Spectrapure myself, and love it.

Unless that's a free shipping price, Spectrapure (at the link I gave) is chearper, at $259 for the MaxCap before shipping.

I purchased a Reef +1 RO/DI system from TheFilterguys about 9 months ago and could not have been happier. They are definitely customer friendly as well. Was 300 even I think so that's about the same as the spectrapure.

Not as good as the Spectrapure when you look at the specifications of each unit and compare them.
