    I would not leave it outside. It will most likely cause the plastic to become brittle and break.

    RO and RO/DI systems must be in a climate controlled place away from direct lighting and sunlight.
    The plastic is the least of your worries, warm temperatures and sunlight make lots of nasty stuff grow inside the unit since the carbon block has removed all traces of residual chlorine.
