    It's no problem to turn it on and off, that wasn't what I meant. I make a 5 gallon bucket about every 3 days and it is turned off in between. For a saltwater tank you don't need to add anything to your RO water. It is unsafe for freshwater fish from what I understand because it is too pure and doesn't have any trace minerals or anything. With a saltwater tank the trace elements you need are in your salt or you dose them. So don't worry about the water! As for storage store it in a food grade container and it should be fine forever I would think. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
