Decided to get an RO system so I can stop buying at the LFS. What shoukld I be looking for? Do not want to hook up directly to the tank. I will be keeping it in the garage and will have a 50 galoon tank to "pull" from as needed. Any ideas or does anybody have one they would recommend.

    Thanks in advance

Thanks AZ. Anybody have any input on a Coralife pure flo 24 gal per day. Do not need more then that, go through about 15 gallons a week between water changes and top off. I can pick it up with a bucket of salt mix (50lbs +/- for 149 from the LFS

You will not like it. Thats 24 gallons per day at 65 psi and 77 degree water temperature which we never seem to have at home. You can expect maybe 15-18 GPD in reality from that unit. The 75 or 90GPD units have definite advantages in that respect. They cost the same, in fact the Spectrapure Pro Plus is only $149, on sale at $100 off right now, and includes a TDS meter and pressure gauge, both of which you will want and need anyway. And even more, they are the same physical size, deliver better water quality, waste the same amount of water or often less since it has a better flow restrictor but best of all it makes 90 GPD at a lower pressure of 60 psi and the same 77 degree water temp. realistically you will get 4 or 5 times the GPD so less standing around waiting for water when you need it. The membrane and DI resin will last much much longer due to superior filter quality and the total cost of ownership will be much lower. I don't see any advantages to the Coralife at all except maybe buying for the LFS but Spectrapure is also a big sponsor of this site along with others and has done so for years and years on RC and others.
