I've had this green rock/flower anemone for about a month now and the other night I looked at it and it had brown stuff spewing from it...any ideas as to what was happening??

    Too much Taco Bell?

Seriously, could be cool. Anemones expel waste from time to time and then perk up. How's it doing now?

I had a purple tip anemone that would do the same-thing from time to time. It was doing fine till it got sucked up in a powerhead. :'( Everybody that I've talked to says it's normal, so I wouldn't worry to much.

Sorry for the directness, but I believe that an anemones mouth and anus are the same orifice. So what you saw was normal waste discharge :)

thanks for the replies, guys!! I believe you're right, John....they are one in the same. Probably just taking a healthy..ummm, you know what.... ;D As far as feeding goes, it loves brine, mysis, almost anything. I feed it formula one (the frozen kind, but thawed) a couple of times per week, too, other than that it just filter feeds. He is a cool dude, doesn't bother a thing!
