I personally caught a baby Rock Beauty in the Keys. He is still very small and has enough algae to live on for a little while. I also caught 2 queen angel babies and a Gray or French angel baby that I'm thinking could be a hybrid because he has features from both Gray and French. Well the Queens died with having no power during hurricane Issac. The French is eating all foods I have given him(cyclop-eeze,flakes,minced shrimp, lettuce, and nori) and is doing very well. I am just worried that the Rock beauty will run out of food he has nibbled on lettuce but that is it. I ordered a angel supplement but it is taking forever to ship. Would anyone have ideas of getting him to eat in the mean time?

Any ideas? I tried angel sinking pellets and a better flake food.... he hasn't eaten any of it so far.

try a sponge since that is what they typically eat in the wild

Unfortunately I don't have much sponge on my live rock but he doesn't seem to have touched the little that is there. When I caught the other angels it was on a bridge leg and they were hiding is these black sponges that when you touched them would shoot out this slime that stung similar to a jellyfish. Although I caught the rock beauty at a shallow patch reef that didn't have much sponge although there were tons of tangs which i tried to catch but are impossible lol I was thinking maybe when they are young they prefer algae
