rock from rc

if i but rock from rc will i need to cure it?

 

if you buy base rock from rc then no you dont need to cure it
a good rinse in RODI might be an idea, I have never seen this rock so I dont know how clean it is when its shipped
but its always a good idea to give it a quick rinse to get rid of anything lose (transit dust) to avoid having an overly cloudy tank

whoops I just put mine in the tank

 

then I know that rc rock is nice and clean when you get it
which is great
I have had some dry rock that was also pretty sediment free and didnt get bumped around much so very little damage
but I also got some which was covered in a fine brown powder and made the rinsing water muddy looking ( probably stored outside )
hence I rinse it all now, and if the water stays clear, then my work is easy

oh it did have some powder (not too bad) but I was to lazy to rinse all of it (did like 2 pieces) cause it weighs like 4x the original weight when it is wet I also ran my skimmer during cycle
