    Can someone ID the items on the foreground of the rock thalt look like stars. They are not asteria starfish. The arm retract. Thanks.

    I'd guess would be some kind of star tunicate. Do a google image search on that to see some other examples. I'm pretty sure they're a good hitchhiker.

    If they are stationary, it's probably a good filter feeder.

    They are indeed tunicates. They're harmless, altho that particular species (the binomial name escapes me ATM) can be pretty prolific if it "likes" your tank.
