    i am curing around 50 pound of live rock(from local beach) and it has some algae that has like long hair. should i take all that off or leave it???

    No lights on during the curing should take care of the algae

    Was it ok to collect the rock? The Florida area is extremely regulated about collection isn't it? I would clean the rock if it seems to be getting out of hand.

    phil dont worry. it is rock i collected form a public beach that was broght ashore by the waves. i Dint like disturb any reefs or go deep. there just a couple of rocks i picked up that looked decent with some lifeform. Thanx fo being concerned thoe. i apreciated.

    i would let it go and see what happens because you are cycling your rock so after cycling your probably going to get different alges on it anyway. its all part of the rock aging

    i have my q tank full of live rock and there is a hole lot of live and creatures. ima post some pics on tonight for ya to help me find out wat it is. Thanx guys 4 all ure help. i am extremely thankful.

    You probably have to resize them and make them smaller. HTH
