Rock rubble for substrate?

    what wouuld be the problem wit adding nice size pieces of rr in my bare bottom for substrate 10g 87x flow

    The biggest problem you will run into it food and detritus falling down into the rock where nothing can scavenge it.

    Agreed...it would tend to trap waste and be hard to clean.

    well my powerheads are facing str8 down i was thinking of adding a bristle star also the way my pumps are the waste ends up in the front of the tank

    if they are large enough you could just take most of them out and clean them like every couple months or so

    well i bought them anyway lol most of the rocks are 3x2in so they are pretty big as far as rock rubble goes and i love the look i think i will blow them off with my weekly wc and rinse them off in waste water once a month and thats when ill clean the crap under them but the only thing in my tank that settles at the bottom is large pieces of sand or debris
