I've had my tank set up for over a year. Now there are white spots all over the live rock. Only thing I've noticed that's off is the Alk. Everything else looks fine. Any clue why it would be doing this now?

Will take pics as soon as my battery charges. FYI We added live sand about a month and a half ago @ 1 cup per day for 4 days.

If you are saying your coralline is dieing off then Alk is a huge factor and you say the other parameters are fine that depends on what you consider as fine .

How do you supplement alk and calcium and magnesium ? if you does then what you where dosing say a yr ago is not enough this yr.. the demand goes up as the coralline and corals grow .

Coralline algae will deplete the Ca and Carbonates in Magnesium in a hurry as they increase in numbers
