Depends on how much space you want. I'd start with 100 though. See if that's good. If not, order more.

    agreed!!!

It's pretty easy to add more when you have the space.

You can always have say, 100 lbs in the DT, and if you want more LR - which usually cannot hurt - you can put some in your sump. LR is useful for biological filtration - and the LR will do just as good of a job in your sump as a biologicial filter - LR does not need light to be LR - just a stable SW system.

Ok I was going to order the 50 lb pack special and the some of the flat that they have so I can build but after looking at your pics you don't see much flat.

Depends on preference, but usually you will hear about 1lb per gallon of water. You can go over or under depending on preference. My tank is a 120G and I have well over 200lbs in it

Dry rock weighs considerably less than live rock (no water weight). For example, I have a 26" tall x 48" wide aquarium. I have rock in a "U" shape, stretching all the way to 21" from the sand. It was all bought as dry rock, and weighs less than 45 lbs...my tank is an 84 gallon half round. Now that the rock is submerged, it is much heavier. You'd be surprised how far dry rock goes.

I did not consider this at all! Great point; I've actually never even thought about that

the more rock you have the easier it is to keep your nasties in check thanks to the anaerobic bacteria it houses

I have 37 lbs of rock in my 29g.It madefor some great cave, but mine isn't from reefleaners.

I purchased about half of it as dry rock/ half base and live (both have water-weight). It spans all the way across my tank, but only half way up in the water. I may add some to my fuge.
