If you're moving to the same area then it shouldn't be a big deal. As a matter of fact, almost every time I've moved, I was able to buy a new tank, get it set up and have a fairly easy move day. The key i having enough time between getting access to the new house and getting out of the old one that you can do this. Unfortunately when you move across country, this is seldom the case :/

I also just ordered a 100 gallon polyethylene cone bottom tank that I'm going to use for water changes. I thought a lot about going the automated route, but I want to limit potential failure points. Maybe later.

With this set up I will have a pump continually feeding water through the tank then when it's time for the water change I will turn that pump off, open the valve on the bottom of the cone to drain to the sink, close the valve, fill it with make up water from my salt reservoir and turn the pump back on again.

    Link to cone bottom tank:

It was the largest tank I could find with under a 30" diameter.

I figure it will be about 5 minutes start to finish.

You have some big tanks here - any thoughts on ventilation for humidity?

Honestly no, but it's a great point. I will look for spot for an exhaust fan.

I spent all day today working on my sump with a friend - getting him into the hobby :) - I got all the baffles installed and will perform the leak test tomorrow. Sump and fuge are in the filter room - pic below:

Good work, moving along nicely for doing the bi-coastal thing.
