Wow. That is going to look stunning when done.
Hope the low-volt wires were not important! :) I am about to drill a hole throw a wall in my house too and I am kind of worried about stuff like that.

@Reefbruh - going from memory I think he said those cases were built with 2x4s but I'd have to look.

They went to the lights in the top of the cabinet. We're going to need to rewire, but not a big deal. The funny thing is that when my friend was drilling I heard a big "clunk" from inside the structure. I thought we might have drilled through something that caused the structure to get damaged. It turns out it was the wires pulling out of the light fixtures :)

Yeah, the top is double-thick plywood supported underneath by a 2"x6" boxed frame which is itself supported by 2"x4"s in line with it. Very beefy. Not that I won't be sweating as we fill, but it should be good to go.

I also forgot to add that pulling those pillars out dramatically opened up the room. It is really night and day.

    Looking good, bud!
Those 2 platforms look as if they were built to display your tanks.

    Sunday Update:

My friend and I worked for about 8 hours today on plumbing and other stuff in the fish room under the house. Everything under the house is tied in!

Below is a 30 gallon polyethylene container that is acting as a water break. Remember that the tanks are about 25 feet above the sump so as it drains it will have a TON of velocity. The water comes in to the right side of the tank at the very bottom and exits to the left through the bulkhead shown - it is about 4-5 inches above the entry bulkhead so this will also act as a trap.

Inside the tank we put this strainer to help stop any debris from getting past the trap.

Here is the drain tied in from the trap tank to the high water side of the sump. The bummer here is that if I want easy access to the fuge I needed to drop the drain down then bring it back up to the sump. This means there is a small area of the drain under pressure. I'm not a fan of that since it acts as a trap, but the trap tank shown above will be catching the majority of debris and definitely any big stuff.

Here is the pump getting tied into the sump.

Here is a big check valve on the feed line.

Here is the whole fish room. It is 99% done. The only work I have left to do is to run the drain from the fuge to the high water side of the sump. Right now it's dropping into the low water area and creating a lot of splash. .

Tomorrow night we are leak testing the main pump feed and drain and tieing in the display tanks.
