    I forgot to post a pic of my water disperser to drop water into the sump. I've got a high water section of the sump and this disperses the high volume of water I've got dropping in.

    It is made with a T-Fitting and three manifolds connected to the main drain pipe.

    Deciding to do it wasn't nuts. :) haha. This is an awesome build, Rocketman. It should be nice to see the outcome. I think it will turn out very nice.

    The pipe coming in from the upper right and dropping in vertically is the return from the refugium. The rest serves to break up the water coming in from the main tank. When we water tested it (looped the top of the system - not into the tanks), the output of it dropping into the sump was borderline extreme. (see pic below). We needed to disperse and slow the water so I came up with this contraption using PVC manifolds to split the water up into smaller streams.

    Wow that looks like a ton of flow in there, amazing how changing out a few pipes and distribute the water enough to calm it down, great idea on the manifolds
