Nice work! (and idea with the sponge) Glad that worked! :guitarist
Very occasional rinse on that sponge is probably all you will have to do. Gotta love that.

    Another update:

I made my first new major fish purchase for the new setup. I found a harem of three Potters Angels online that I couldn't pass up.

I will be adding my Florida fish either this weekend or next and I wanted to get a few more docile fish into the semi-reef side before I add my Red Sea Sailfin, who is known to be a bit of a pain at times - though one of my favorites.

    Awesome, rocketman
Potters angels are very pretty ;)
Will they be going in your FOWLR or reef?
If I understand correctly you said they will be going in the reef?

I'm labeling the two sides SPS and semi-reef. The semi reef will have hardy, fast growing softies that I won't care a tremendous amount if they get picked on. The Potters will go there.

The SPS side will have only the safest of reef-safe fish. The current plan for that side is:

    - Existing Blackbar and Vanderbilt Chromis
    - Flamefin Tomini Tang *
    - Lt Tang *
    - Purple Tang *
    - Japanese Swallowtail Angel *
    - Some sort of Anthias
    - Various assorted blennies and gobies

    The semi-reef side will have:

    - Red Sea Sailfin *
    - Vlamingi *
    - Potters Trio
    - Blue Throat Trigger (hopefully I can find a pair)
    - Porcupine Puffer
    - One other tang of the Acanthurus genus

The fish with * are currently in FL

That sounds like a great plan ;)
Be sure to post LOTS of pictures once you get the fish from Florida

Great stocking list! Can't wait to see some more swimmers...

As for corals, are you starting to pick some out, or will you be waiting until the fish are fully stocked before adding?

I'm getting my light fixture done now. No corals til then and even at that point I'll be taking it slow. SPS to start will be one of the more durable acros along with a cap or two - all frags. On the semi-reef side I'll definitely have some zoos and green star polyps. I might throw in some easier LPS to start with as well (Trumpets are one of my favs).
