you could use some sort of insulation wrap (low profile of course)
maybe some type of insulation tape

and find a decorative cover perhaps

perhaps get some lattice running up or something similar and some vegetation of some sort??

just some ideas off the top of my head

Sweet setup so far, very creative. A bigger chiller would solve the heat problem but adding some insulation to the pipe/s on the outside of the house would cut down on the chiller usage a bit. As previously recommended, maybe some of that foam used to cover AC pipes, if it's not that pleasing on the eyes maybe you could cut some PVC pipe in half to use as a cover and paint it the same color as the wall. Or talk to someone that has a machine used to bend house gutters to build you a cover for the pipes/foam, you could spray paint that any color.

Here is a great selling point for her veto power....LOL

Pipe Insulation is a great way to save energy, reduce heating and cooling cost and keep your home comfortable all year round.Proper insulation is critical to home comfort and efficiency. In adition it will be asthetically pleasing to the eye and can be painted to match your current decor.

How's your Sailfin Tang, by the way? Hope he's doing all better by now.

Thanks for asking - she is totally better now. I'll get a video tonight and post. Aside from some very minor fin damage when I netted her out of the sump she looks top notch. She is an amazing fish and has survived a lot. I would have hated to see her go down during shipment.

I still can't believe she survived. I mean she was not moving at all. I couldn't even see her gills move and needed to ask Tighe if he saw any movement. He saw her eye move and we quickly started fish CPR. Amazing recovery.

My main issue now is that the Limbaugh's chromis has popeye in one eye. Water params are all normal, he is eating well and his other eye is fine so I don't believe it's bacterial. He was getting picked on by the Powder Blue when I first put him in so I'm guessing his eye got scratched.

I keep my AC set at 76 during the day and 72 at night. My tank stays around 80-81 degrees. Everyone recommended installing a fan in the sump so I did. My temp still says at 80-81. I'm a bit worried with the hottest days still to come this summer, but I'm not buying a chiller that is for sure.

wouldnt it be cheaper to run a chiller rather than you AC constantly?

Video of my tangs on the SPS side. Please excuse the smudges on the tank - it's the first algae I've seen in the tank since I just put the lights up and I can't bring myself to clean it off :)
