This is a good idea. I've had these with good success before and they look cool.

Another FTS - of course I took this with a bottle of Brightwell vitamin supplement on top of the tank that I didn't see until I pulled up the photo on my computer. And of course the light is off in the tank now...

Honestly the only thing that's a royal PITA is cleaning the sides of the tanks. The accessibility is an issue, especially on the tank by the stairs. Combine that with the fact that I am being extra careful not to scratch the acrylic and you have a not so fun time.

Aside from that, the water changes are relatively easy (and I'm working on a super secret device that will make them easier - more to come on that later), my DIY Kalk reactor is working like a charm, protein skimmer needs cleaning only a little more than once per week - not bad at all.

I'm overdoing it a bit... I do about 200 gallons a pop because it allows me to use an entire bucket of salt. When I get my auto water changer built I will do a lot less a lot more often.

    The tank looks great, man!

How often do you do water changes? lol.

I have an idea that will be similar for my tank. Just never got around to doing it yet...lol. 3 timers. 1 on the ato. 1 on the water out pump and 1 on the water in pump. Daily water changes will be magic.

Or ignore the timers and have it all on a switch. That's not quite as much fun though.

I know we've talked... and I don't mean the one I used... but have you thought of doing daily/continuous changes once you get your auto changer going.

.... and ya, what do you think of acrylic tanks???
