Sounds like a good Ole fashioned De-Nitrate Coil... with a twist...

It is. I figure the more surface area the better.

    Project(s) Update:

    Heat Exchanger:

I contacted AquaLogic and they are going to send me a drop-in titanium heat exchange coil. I'm getting the pricing on Monday, but should have by the end of the week. Will be ordering the tankless heater on Monday.

Interestingly they said they use exactly the setup I've drawn out on large systems using Noritz tankless heaters. They said the reservoir is necesessary for thermal expansion.

    De-Nitrifying Coil:

Container coming next Wed. Everything else has been bought.

A couple weeks ago, though I didn't write about it then, I had sump drainage event.

The air intake on the Bubble King got restricted and it pumped way too much water. The result was that it overflowed profusely and in a matter of hours it drained my sump of about 60 gallons of water. Yes, it went on the floor. Fortunately under the "floor" it's dirt so no harm done. Also, fortunately, I was home, caught it in the morning and had just mixed a new batch of salt water for a water change so I was able to fill it back up. Also, also fortunately, the pump didn't burn out.

This is the second time this type of event has happened, though this was much more serious than the first. To avoid a recurrence I ended up buying a float switch and a breakout box for my Apex. I just finished installing them yesterday evening. Here are some pics/movie:

I had some extra acrylic laying around so I made a little bar to sit on top of the skimmer drain bucket. I glued two small pieces in place to hold it in.

They would be too big. 1" is the max for 1.5" flex PVC.

My container arrives next Friday so I'll get this put together next weekend.

Update: I've been lazy with the denitrifyer, but have been working on the auto water change system.

I just sent off the final docs and down payment to the guy building the prototypes. I'm hopeful to have a working model in a couple months.

It's doing well. Will post a couple FTS soon. I had a bout with a failed TDS meter in my RO unit that caused some stuff to get into my fresh water supply, but I found and fixed it. Right now I've got a little bit of a mag problem I'm trying to resolve.
