    my rocks are excreatin white milky stuff.... good bad normal in a new tank.... was told it was living rock.... 2 rocks in perticular have fan tails good bad what is it?

    We are going to need some pictures. Rocks don't excrete anything, so it must be an animal of some sorts. I'm not sure what you mean by fantails.

    a local store i was at yesterday called it a christmas tree.... if thats any help

    Oh, that does. A christmas tree rock is a rock, actually a certain type of coral, with little worms whose crowns look like little colorful christmas trees. They are very hard to keep because of the lighting requirements and the fact that the worms generally do very poorly in aquariums.

    I would switch to a different LFS if they are reccommending all this stock with your tank being so young...

    my lights are high condescent twin 55w 10000k bulbs was told that will do more then enough for me i know its doin good for the polyp
