You can buy a different capillary tube restrictor and trim it to fit your conditions. Only $5.
I am assuming you are saying you have color indicating resin and it is showing signs of color change? Personally I hate color changing resin, won't use it as it is not very accurate. If you don't already have one get a good handheld TDS meter and use it to determine membrane and DI condition, no guessing.

so, apparently I dont even need a new capillary tube. All i need is to dial back the flow for the waste output. Using even a ball valve is okay. So, I should be in business tonight. woohoo

Did you take the time to measure your waste ratio when you bought the system then trim the flow restrictor according to the owners manual? It walks you through the steps on how to do this extremely important step.

yes I did that. But, the restrictor is set to max from the factory. and you can adjust it to increase the waste flow. I did test my ratios: thats how I know i was at 1:6.

I got an email from spectrapure saying to go ahead and get a ball valve or flow restrictor on the end. So, I went down to the ol Ace hardware, and found a 1/4" compression needle valve. dialed it back to 1:3 and now its game on!

Thanks for the help everyone. And AZ!

Watch the needle valve closely. I have the MaxCap UHE system which also has a capillary tube AND needle valve and the valve can plug or need adjustment over time. Every so often make it a point to check the waste ratio and adjust the valve or I would get another flow restrictor that you can trim to the correct length and forget the needle valve. Thats what I did on my UHE once I set the booster pump pressure where I wanted it.

Thanks AZ. I was actually thinking I would keep an eye on the needle valve just to be safe. What other capillary restricter can I get? Spectrapure suggested the valve but didn't suggest any other restrictor device or other tube...
