Is it normal for your micron filter to look like this after 100 gallons??

Holy bad words! What the H do you have in your water!!??? That is insane...

But asking if it is normal is relative. Most likely you just have VERY dirty water. Replaced mine about 150 gallons ago and it is just now hinting at a color change

oh man! i just changed mine yesterday after about 200 gallons... it was nowhere near that dark. maybe barely a tan color. with that said, there isn't really a "normal", everyone has different water quality, just means you have really dirty water and the filter did its job by not letting that stuff through.

Depends on your pipes. If you set it up to a line with very corroded pipes, unless you run the water for a few minutes before starting up the rodi, it'll release all kinds of brownish gunk into your filter.

BTW, which micron filter is this? 1,5,10? and is it the first or last in the line?

I would add another prefilter of a higher micron rating before this one.

You on well water ? or have old Galvanized iron piping in the house or in the yard maybe ? You may need to put a iron filter if its mud have they been doing any waterline work in the area or if its well maybe foot valve is sucking mud ?
