I have a smaller RODI unit at the moment, but it's more of a consumer drinking water model. The purity is still high, but it wasn't marketed for aquarium use. I installed it myself using an auto-tap, and ran the drain line, so I'm not looking for installation instructions, just info on hardware.

How do the aquarium specific units typically ship? What's the input hose size, and mechanism? My basement is unfinished. The main water line from the city runs right under my aquarium. Ideally, I'd like to use an auto tap on the water line, and run the output line on the RODI right up to my sump for an ATO.

I know that some come with garden hose adaptors, but is this the only option?

Thanks in advance for the advice.... and sorry if I'm not being clear. I'm working on very little sleep today. ;-)

They offer hose, faucet and auto tap options.

There are a multitude of options. Take a look at places like www.spectrapure.com, www.buckeyefieldsupply.com and even www.thefilterguys.com for options. I use all Spectrapure and they would be my first choice with Buckeye being my second and only other personally. Those two ship their units with a garden hose thread adapter standard but can include anything you need if you call and tell them how you intend to use it. Rather than supply a bag of fittings you end up throwing away andcharging more they choose to customize one at a time according to your needs. Spectrapure also has a jillion diagrams and drawings in their tech section, hook up diagrams and owners manuals which you can view or print out even though you may not own one of their systems.

Thanks, that's what I was looking for! I much prefer auto tap, rather than having a garden hose outlet installed. I just wanted an easy shipment with the parts I need, and not too many trips to HD! LOL

whats up Toronto Guy, not sure what a auto tap is but you should not use a rodi as a feed for your ato, if you have a problem with a stuck valve or something you will flood your tank with fresh water. use a remote fresh water chamber instead?
