Ok so let me start to tell you what i have then the problem. I just bought a typhoon 5 from AIR WATER AND ICE. here is the problem...... not the unit but help with the hose adapter. the hose fits in the adapter but there is a small leak. when the auto shut off valve turns off from the float valve works fine. there is no leak anywhere else just at the hose adapter. if anyone can help me with this situation.

Do you mean where the 1/4 inch line goes into the adapter?? If so, pull it out, cut about an inch off the end and re-install it. Make sure you pull back on the line to make sure it is locked. (I am assuming it is a John Guest fitting).

i willl try that right now. i cut off a small amount earlier today. my thing is that is i think that it could be the back pressure from the unit not really running all the time since i have the float valve and the auto-shut off. if this dose not work is there anything else i need to or can try? thanks in advance

Be sure you push the line in all the way until it stops. Then pull back to lock it. Make sure you have a nice level clean cut.

May be a bad seal in the adapter. can you send a pic of where it is leaking?

HMMM--All I can say is to keep trying--I had a real stubborn fitting on my unit when it was new. I just kept trying, and eventually it sealed. Never had a problem since.

do you believe that or could i try teflon tape on the tubing and then see if that would work or would that make a bigger problem?
