Well I decided to start my tank when I moved out here to San Diego as something to keep myself busy and entertained. My dad and I had kept freshwater tanks when I was young and I used to go over and admire the tank when he set it up as SW a few time but never with much success. Well, when I took a job out here he gave me the tank and I was in... I've read a couple books but learned an amazing amount from this forum in just a few months... Its amazing how much some people in the hobby never know. I went to visit a friend back home who has a tank and was asking about how the his fish got along, noticed a sixline and asked if it dominated his pod count and he just stared blankly back (this was a win for me... I realized just how much I had learned lol)

Anyways, thats my story. Here's my tank at roughly six months. Its just FOWLR right now as I only have 2x54 HO T5s on the tank. I'd love suggestions for future tankmates, inverts, and maybe even some corals?? I have a kenya arriving later this week (Thanks anpgp!) Wish me luck.

    My firefish (my first fish)

Emerald crab, one of two.. the other guy was in some rockwork

Some feather dusters that hitchhiked on my original LR

The plumbing... no idea why I've added this but hey, why not. The other side of the 'T' will eventually go to a sump with the skimmer but I haven't built that yet... making do with the remora HOB.

Hope you enjoyed... I've really got passionate about this hobby. My reefangel controller will be in this week! :)

Looks great. The angel may make coral keeping difficult.

Nice setup. I would also be wary of the angel and coral. Atleast if u had slowly u won't be out a lot of money if he takes a liking

Well bad news. I will be breaking down the tank this week due to a small leak that is apparently on the bottom :-( because I'm still in an apartment an upgrade is out of the question and I will be out of town for two weeks so my only option is to sell my angel, and put the clowns and firefish in my spare 20. :-/ maybe I'll get a bigger tank in the future but for now I can't justify upgrading or even replacing the 55. Guess I'll just clean the equipment and store it for the future.

Local hardware store get a razor blade or two and some GE Silicone I window and Door (Blue label NOT the RED one which is Kitchen and Bath) Redo all the inside seams.

total cost : maybe 10 bucks and whatever you drink of preference is.

That sucks. There should be a warranty on the tank.

Just a warning, those Deep Blue stands are not well made. Mine started twisting after just a few months.

I'll be looking into patching the seams I guess but it will have to wait til the new year before I can get the time unfortunately. Thanks for the advice.
