rolling smoke

    What causes what looks like rolling smoke in my 55 gal. Puffer and trigger fish with emperor 500 filter?

    I had this the other day. I thought it was some kind of discharge from my corals after doing a water change. Can you take a pic?

    not right now i can't. It just looks really cloudy with whitish rolling smoke in it.

    Do you have corals? What kind of inverts?

    depending on what kind of salt you use, you might be percipitating calcium from the water and the LR, after the increase in alkalinity-creating a smoke look which is blown around by the power heads. I will also get that effect after adding Seachem Marine Buffer

    also hard water with lesser quality salt will do this, can you give more details? also a sign of new tank syndrome
