Female wrasses in general are hard to come by, as collectors don't bother with them since they are not as pretty and hence don't bring in as much money as the males. :)

It only makes sence, commercially speaking. Let's hope the ones I get will be really pretty, as promised :)

Don't hope for too pretty, then it might actually be a sub-dominant male. :)

The fun part of keeping a pair is watching the behavior and the flashing of the male; that's where the real beauty is at.

I love my McCosker's Flasher Wrasse, but finding a female has been near impossible. He is very peaceful and always on the move.

I can't wait to see it! I really hope they can find the pair. Or not paired for that matter. I understand that if not in pairs in nature, they will pair up in the tank where they're the only male and female to be found around?

Usually. Keeping wrasse pairs is not an exact science, and things can always change.

Even if they pair up, there may come a day when the female decides she wants to change to male, even a year or two down the road...

    Generally, things work out though.

It's no different than keeping any other fish together; you have to keep an eye on the situation and interaction of everybody.
