Room smells like ocean

Geez, what beach have you been visiting? Usually the ocean here has a pleasant smell. Even in dirty California waters. When my tank cycled it smelled more like rotten eggs than the ocean.

 

i had to read it a couple times, im like did he really just say that.lol then i laughed and im still laughing.

 

I'd recomend that you smell the collection cup on your skimmer. it will help make the other smell not seem so bad!! ;-)

 

good point!, if the tank smell like the ocean pretty much the fishies think it is,
and that is what every one is trying to archive in the hobby

 

As a person who grew up with the ocean about four blocks away from my house, I can't imagine you'd want that smell to ever leave!!!!!!

 

they have antibiotics for that now you know?:biggrinbo Though I hope she doesnt read this post or else she is going to you!

skimmate, now thats nasty stuff. I have thrown up twice servicing the collection cup. I at least dry heave every time.

 

worst fish stuff I ever smelled.....I had a fire in my old tank, so I had just turned off all the "nonessentials" to keep the tank running until my new one came (had already purchased prior to fire). I was like 2 weeks I guess before the new tank came. I had my chiller off and did not think anything about draining it...well when new tank came I pulled the hose out of the old sump and water came out of the hose and I threw up right there....the water in the sump went bad and produced some type of noxious gass....my house reaked for the longest time of rotten eggs

 

well if it's galveston bay near houston...you wouldn't exactly crave the smell...lol...expecially after hurricane ike...smells like decay...ewww.
