How do I get my roommate to pay the comcast bill so our internet doesn't get shut off again? We decided that I would pay the peco (electric/gas/water) bill and that she would pay the comcast bill, and we would later just split the difference. That way, we never owe each other too much money.

This is the second time our internet has been shut off. She is $200 behind (over 2 months). I am connected to an unprotected network downstairs (but the connection is terrible). If she were paying the peco bill, I would no longer have a reef tank.

I am only living with her for a few more months, then I graduate. What should I do for now? ::)

Call her parents? Honestly there is not alot. I mean the only way to make her pay up is small claims court but thats a ton of hassle. Get her to sign something and then keep receipts and come back after her later would be my plan.

Well, change the password of the wireless router, if she uses the internet via wi-fi.

unless she has an agreement w/ you there isn't a whole lot to that can be done.. Honestly if I were you, I would talk to her politely (try not to be confrontational or blaming or that will make the situation worse) and ask her if everything is ok or if she has financial issues. You want to talk to her and let her know that there is an issue, that you notice it and want to help. If that doesnt work, I would hate to do this but you may need to talk to the parents.

If nothing comes of it then I would either ask for her to move out or move out yourself..even if you only have a few months left its not worth the trouble...especially if Comcast comes after you to pay (hopefully the bill isnt in your name either).

Just talk to her about it. If that doesn't work then take her to court.

Haha I like this idea. She would have no clue how to change it back!

I will probably end up talking to her mom. She doesn't have a car at the moment, so I am hoping that her mom is the one to drop her off here at the end of winter break.

Sadly, I am on a one year lease. There is no way out of it.. The landlords around here are scum. Luckily, the bill is not in my name!!

I should hide some skimmate in her room. ;D

easy fix, sign up your internet with a different company in your name and create a pass, charge her cash each month if she wants to use it, you can always change the password each month or something. If shes 200 behind just hope the bills not in your name when it goes to collections. It will probably be the cheapest and easiest fix.
