I never fed mine because I didn't want it to split.

I feed mine about once or twice a week. I give him some chunks of shrimp or silversides.

What kind of Clown fish do you have? Because most false clown fish will not host a BTA, although my false clown fish is hosting my BTA but it was a tank raised clownfish which I thinks helps.

MY BTA doesnt look very bubbly at all. I feed her 2 times a week with silver sides. Should I feed more often? I also have a anemone crab on the BTA that i am trying to get out the tank with out any luck does any one have any ideas. I am thinking the reason my clown fish arent hosting is because of the anemone crab.

Anemones require lots of light. Once acclimated they will bleach unless provided with sufficient light (in the MH range). Unless the tank is low (less than 6-8" VHO/CF/PC might work) a MH source will be needed.

And these things (BTA) are BIG MONSTERS! I saw some specimens with diameters of 3 feet. Some carpet anemone I saw were around 12 feet!

oh yes, before i forget ... life is priceless .... ;)

MOST anemone's require pretty intense light as well as excellent water quality for their success and happiness. Feeding them with clam, krill etc. from time to time will help them grow and thrive as well. Remember they will move and the last thing you want to have happen is for them to end up caught up in a powerhead inlet or overflow area of your tank.

but for some reason my anemone settled down on the lowest rock. futherst spot away from my MH. if they needed more light wouldnt they move towards the light. i have the jebo 305 watt lights is this enough for the anemone or am i under feeding.

no one knows how to take a anemone crab out of a anemone. i broke both of the crabs arms off trying to get him out and they grow back with in a month crazy.

I'm also curious about the minimum lighting requirements (ie watts/gallon) and flow requirements (gallons/hr) for a BTA. I just adopted one, along with a maroon clown. The BTA has settled in, but also retracted into itself. It's only been a few days, but I just want to make sure I'm doing all I can for the li'l critter.
    Thanks much!
