Soooo my previous built was going great, and for years I haven't had a QT tank... And unfortunately here is where I messed up and learned the hard way... Hints why I'm starting this post... I caught the marine velvet! *dun dun daaaaaaaaa* so after bleaching and rinsing and bleaching and vinegar and rinsing I'm ready for round 2! This time I have replaced all the sand, new backdrop (here's a picture of my daughter playing with the scraps), and put in my sterile rocks. I'm going with a low profile open tank this time. So here are some pictures while I make salt water over night and get it mixing all day tomorrow!

Sorry to hear about your troubles. Looks like a nice clean start here though. How big is that tank?

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Great beginnings. So you're mainly a fish guy? That is a big tank with a lot of swimming room.

    Thank you everyone!
The dimensions are 72x48x48 180 gallons, 55gallon custom baffled sump with fuge.
Yea I have a one-year-old daughter that loves watching them swim around, with the Aqua scape I had they all were hidden to where she couldn't see. And my goal is to cover the Aqua scape I have in corals :)

Keep posting your progress! Nice to see you getting the kids involved early!! Great was to justify purchases! "But honey, its for the kids!" :D

Oh yea, my daughter was helping me push the barrel into the living room to start filling the tank lol. Thankfully I don't have to justify it, my girlfriend is obsessed with the hobby and she's the one spending all my money at the lfs lol.
It's all good, sadly I have to start all over but now I get to do something different and switch it up :)

Looking good. I hope that HUGE rock resting against the overflow is stable?

    Did you mean the dimensions are 72" x 24" x 24" = standard 180g?
