Which is better to run in a reactor?

ROWAphos or BRS Bulk GFO High Capacity Ferric Oxide

or any other stuff that you feel is better? I just set this thing up and don't know what to go with.

They are the same thing just in a different form. I would get the BRS granular GFO since it is the pellet is more than twice the price of granular and last only twice as long. Pound for pound the BRS GFO is cheaper than commercial brands.

Is there a big difference between the granular and the high capacity BRS stuff besides the price?

I don't think so. The high capacity is formed into pellets and the granular is not. I feel the surface area is greater with the granular. I suspect the granular will take a little longer to rinse the fines off though. This is not a problem since you can do a water change when you change the GFO and pump the water to remove through the new GFO to clean it.

I prefer the pelletized myself. It does not clump up or trap detritus as bad as the granular media. Most of the GFO products on the market come from the ame one or two manufacturers so there is very little difference between resellers except maybe grain size in some cases.
The BRS stuff is great for me.
