Does anyne use this? It seems so small that it gets through the sponge in my reactor. Does anyone know if it's harmful to the fish if eaten, because some got released into the display tank. Is there any phosphate media that is larger in size?

Most of the GFO products that I have seen are quite small. Here are my notes.

I had problems with mine as well. In the end, I switched to EcoBak a few weeks ago and it appears to be working quite well. (without those problems). Too soon for a final test score though.

I actually moved my reactor to my display tank from the sump because I'm having some plumbing issues and there must have backed up and when I turned it on it blew a substantial amount into the tank. After the air bubble was released I dint see anymore being released into the tank, but I had to go to work right when it happened so I couldn't suck it out and kinda worried bout the fish now

Run GFO slow. You want the pellets to tumble and be careful b/c you can strip the nutrients too fast. This is the kickback to dual reactors that run carbon and gfo at the same time. You normally want high flow through your carbon reactor, kind of packing it in so the H2O passes through the most amount of surface area of carbon. In the GFO reactor, you want the water to go in from the bottom up so the GFO pellets tumble. This allows is the most efficient way to react GFO without pushing too much flow through the reactor.

I switched to a pelletized form of GFO which seems to hold up better, you can get it from Bulk Reef Supply.

I stuff the small bag of Chemi Pure Elite in my TLF reactor. I like it because it's a mix of PO4 remover and high grade carbon. I've been running it for months with no issues and my PO4 is always 0 while my tank remains nice and clear. I also find it much easier to change out since it's in the bag.
