I think it has a lot to do with size of the RG and when you add it to the tank. If you get a smaller one you should be fine. I call mine "grandma" because it's just hangs around the rocks and watches over everyone. Doesn't fight with anyone, great color addition to the tank and has great personality.

Looking at your current stocklist, the only prob I could see would be with your YT Damsel, they may fight depending on the size of each one & if the RG tries to hang in the Damsels territory.

    Here's mine:

Yeah they're such pretty fish but can be such yknow aholes down the line. I just got an Allen's Damsel which is also very pretty but has a much more peaceful attitude. And I swear a fish knows when you want it out, I've wasted hours of my life trying to get fish and everyone else swims into the net or trap but the one I want.

If you ever get the YT out, check out the Allen's damsels. I say if you get a smaller RY and the YT is bigger, the damsel may beat on it. Maybe try to get a RY bigger than your YT.

I have never had a problem with my royal gamma. It never seems to wander very far from its cave. Just kind of swims around in that general area. The only time I have seen mine show any aggression is when it sees its own reflection in the glass. Then it goes up against the glass with its mouth wide open. Its pretty funny. I also have a shrimp and I have never noticed any aggression towards the shrimp.

Hah, yeah I swear they KNOW, if I threw dynamite in my tank the one fish I didn't want would survive somehow :).

Good it doesn't bother your other fish, has it established a territory. They will defend it with their life from anything/everything that's why they become so aggresive as they mature.

Watch this YT attack this diver, they don't care how big you are: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W5art0yS9Ac

I see you've already decided to get a RG, but thought I'd just throw my opinion into the mix. I have a big RG (he's about 3 inches) and he is fine. He only shows a bit of aggression when other fish get too close to his cave, but that's pretty much normal fish behavior. He is very active, bright, and fun to watch. A good choice!
