I read that Royal Gramma's need a 30g tank. My local LFS said I could put a Royal Gramma in a NC14. Now I am confused. Help?

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Depends how your current bio-load IMO. I love Royal Gramma's. If it's the only fish in the tank or with a smaller goby like a Citron and you do routine water changes, than I really do not see an issue. They do get big as they get older but it takes years. It's not like they are huge swimmers like clowns or other damsels, they tend to hover and chill in the rock work.

    Agreed
If they are the only fish in there it would probably do fine

you could do it, but theres a big variety of fish that would do fine for their whole lives in a tank that small. i would personally do a couple gobies or something

They need a good amount of rockwork and can be territorial. In a 14g, it will likely pick fights with just about any other fish you could put in it and you really couldn't put a bigger fish in it. So, you maybe could do it, but I think there are better fish for a 14g though, unless your really set on it.
