Swapped my sailfin for a royal gramma on the w.end as tang had grown to big. Gramma was fine took centre of tank for a bit then mooched about all day.
Sunday went really shy and hid in rocks..not seen it since? ?
Would it go in to die or is hiding to the extreme? Can't see it. What if its rotting in the rocks..wouldn't cleaner shrimp be letting me know. Other fish are super happy:-/

It's only been 2-3 days you are good they hide at first. Mine has a hiding spot in a rock also. And if it did pass you have hermits and snails right? They will clean him up

Ye I got c.u.c but the last I seen of the gramma was in a really tight hole. Will the nitrates spike if he dies?

If your cuc is good you won't even notice. They can clean a dead fish up in hours. Just give it a few days bud mine hides in a very tight spot also but he always gets out.

mine hides in rock crevices all day long. I would get a glimpse of him here and there if I look on the sides of the tank to see him behind the rock structures. Just recently he's getting the gist that my presence means a shower of frozen brine shrimp. LOL

Hopefully yours is just acclimating and will come out soon.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Some Royal Grammas will hide when ever you go to the tank. It can take months for them to feel comfortable. They are a great fish and worth the wait in my opinion.

Mine hides whenever I come by. But when I step back some and wait he comes back out. Or if I grab the blue can of fish pellets he magically see them from his hiding spot and comes out

Couldn't agree more. I love my gramma, he hides almost all day except for food. If there are other fish in the tank, my money is on the fact that he's just hiding.
