RSM Mantis Mansion

Hello all as the title says I have a RSM130 that will mainly be housing a Gonodactylaceus ternatensis (Orange spotted mantis) along with corals. The tanked was first put up several months ago cycled and has a CUC chugging around the tank from Reefcleaners. My mantis arrives Wednesday and hopefully I will be able to include some pics of this guy when he comes in. Nice to meet everyone hope to enjoy your posts.

Is everyone here finding a new mantis but me? I'm hoping to be adding a peacock soon (hint to someone out there, lol).

Awesome score though, and youll be suprised on how attention stealing a mantis can be. From what I read the G. ternatensis arent the most self exposing mantis & tend to keep near thier hole, but they are still awesome none the less.

The n. wennerae I have now does much of the same, but I've had it about a month & he is slowly starting to wander out more. I think the turbo charged 3 year old darting back and forth in front of the tank may play a part in its shyness though.

 

I got the mantis today from bluezoo along with a Hectors Goby. Both of them are hanging in the rockwork the mantis is already banging away I am excited to see what he/she does
