Ok, so I was wondering if it would be possible to rewire the RSM250 hood to have 2 timers. One for actinics and one for daylights. I have a wiring diagram, but I'm not quite sure as to how I would go about doing it. I'm cool with a soldering iron, splicing and heat shrink. I'm less than familiar with the details of designing electronics. If anyone would be willing to help out, here's the diagram from Red Sea for the 250's hood. The diagrams are on pages 3 and 4.

The thing that's tripping me up with the amount of various electronics on the system (AC gets wired into a pair of PC254, which itself is hooked to the timer, then has 2 leads, one to a transformer and the other to another PC254, then out to some relays, and to the ballasts. Transformers also go to relays, and out to moonlights and fans.). I wanted to put the top ballast (labeled #3, connected to ground) on its own timer, by giving it its own AC plug out of the back of the hood. There's no room for another built-in style timer, or wiring to an electronic double timer (timer is also hooked up to the DC side), despite how sweet that would be. It seems that that ballast would be best suited, as its relay seems to be what's controlling both the fans (I'd want them on while this one ballast is still on), and the moonlights (off while this ballast is on, same configuration as now)/

Another thing that's confusing me is that only one of the ballasts is grounded. That doesn't seem right to me, but like I said, I'm not electrically proficient.

So, does anyone have some input on this idea?
