    Bryopsis!!!!

Bryopsis. Yeah it happened. My only piece of LR from the LFS had Bryopsis start growing on it today. I pulled out the whole rock and have it in one of my water change buckets for now. Think I might throw it in some bleach and just kill the whole thing.

for now I'm turning my lights on 24 hours a day for a few days to try and get it to grow anywhere else if some spores got off the rock. I'm hoping that i can get rid of this now before i have any fish in the tank. if it does start popping up in other places ill start dosing and testing magnesium. according to my research keeping it at 1600 is supposed to kill it off pretty quickly.

I'm a little sad that my first thing that started growing in my tank was a pest

Don't waste your time keeping lights off, bleach, or anything else. Not just magnesium, it HAS to be Kent Tech M. Shoot the bryo with a syringe everyday till it goes away, and you'll be good in no time. Its really not as big of a deal as you've probably read. Tech M kills it quick. I didn't even test when I treated mine haha.. With fish corals inverts and all in the tank. You'll be fine.

Oh man, that sucks... I still see aiptasias popping up once in a while in my tank, it hitch hiked on a tiny piece of live rock from LFS.. I hope you get rid of the bryopsis in no time..

Well my cycle completed over the week and I did my first water change this morning. Made a trip to the LFS and picked out an Ocellaris Clownfish and some Astrea snails. I love him, he's about an inch long, alot smaller then most of the clowns I'v seen so I hope to see him grow bigger. He's great and its nice to finally get some life and color in the tank!!!!

So far he went straight to the right corner of the tank and hasn't left yet.

How exciting!!!! Our clowns were really tiny as well. Since we got them online, they were so pale after being in the shipping box. Now they are decent size but still I want them bigger!
    Anyways congrats!!

Very nice looking Clown! Mine stayed up in the corner for awhile as well. They wonder down and explore every once in awhile. They sleep almost upside down at night which worries me sometimes lol. Clowns are very funny fish.

We'll today i set out to fix my micro bubble problem. after watching my fish tank all afternoon and into the night, i noticed my return plumbing introducing micro bubbles into the DT. I fooled around with it and thought it was coming from my tubing connection on my mag 7. So I zip tied that on really tight and started checking other parts of the tubing. Started checking the Loc-Line and noticed it was really bad when I moved the Loc-Line. So I started to tighten down the threaded PVC to Loc-Line connector and the whole PVC connector started spinning. I never glued it!!!!

So a few hours without my sump running. O well, glad I caught it now before that connection came off and emptied my sump and flooded my house.
