Are rubber bands safe in water? I had to use one to attach a piece of PVC pipe to some airline tubing for my ATO so it would sink to the bottom of the reserve bucket.

Perfectly fine. I use them all the time to hold frags to rocks until they attach themselves. I would stick with a natural color though. I have not idea if the colored ones would be different, but I didn't feel like chancing it.

As long as its not blue. Some blue rubber bands have antimicrobial chemicals in them.

I use those tiny tiny rubberbands (like what you use for braces I think) to help hold some things together... they eventually wear out and need replaced, but no problems.

Thanks! I'm using a natural colored one, so life is good!
