I have a friend in town that runs a 150g on his coral application. He has it in the garage because it takes up so much room, but it works well. I believe there are others on here that do the same because I have seen the pictures.

I ran them for sumps and grow out systems still use them for coral grow out systems works great can't be beat and sturdy efficient on space and cheap. We have them also connected to our main systems and as L/r and L/s storage that way our rock is totally cured and ready to be used with minimal die off and problems

Really it depends on what you want to use it for. Since they are so large you usally do not need dividers in them just a bulkhaed to draw water from for the return. If you have a ASM type skimmer than just place it so the output is on the other end from the return intake. Mine has about 75lbs of live rock on one end and going to put a frag rack on the other end with a light. Some people use egg crate to section off for some cheato. Here is a link to one of the local reefers in my area.

I was using 110g Tuff Tubs stock tank until my heater decided to make a soup out of it. Much better then the Rubbermaid ones since these dont have the molded sides that step in towards the bottom. I picked mine up for $50 at tractor supply. Oh yeah, and it has a drain plug already installed.
