Hello all. I got a ruby headed wrasse on Saturday at my local LFS. I drip acclimated her for an hour into my 10 gallon QT tank with a HOB filter, air stone, some PVC for hiding and a sandbox. The tank is clean and cycled. Ammonia, nitrite are 0 and nitrates are ~5. Salinity at 1.022 and pH is 8.2 all according to refractometer and API test kit. I change out 1 gallon a day. She was observed eating and acting normal at the store, on Sunday she ate some vitamin enriched frozen mysis for me but has not been seen eating since although there may be some goodies in the sand. I have not seen her digging through the sand but it is spread all over so I can only assume it was her. She has not been treated with any medication as of yet.

Please ignore the white spots on her side, they were not there two minutes ago (I studied her looking for external problems) and I just did a water change and stirred up some sand and it landed on her. She has been sitting like this since I got home from work yesterday around 7.
    Please help :(

These guys like to burrow in the sand alot. It could be the bare bottom freaking it out. Try putting her in the container of sand.

If you dont plan on treating with meds, you should consider putting her in your display system.

Hope it survives... Beautiful fish you have.

what type of water movement do you have in there to replenish oxygen? You might increase the surface agitation.

I have a sand box in there she was in at one point. I can try to gently place her back in if you think it wont freak her out too much. I did put some erythromycin in the tank because I have it on hand but thought someone else may have suggestions, also I was hoping she would start eating before medicating but it does not look like that is going to happen.
I also have an air pump and bubble stone in there for oxygen.

I would try tipping the box some and scoot her in with your hand...

Can you get live brine or pods? The excitement of moving food might motivate her to eat.
