Try to find freshly hatched brine shrimp... Napaili (sp?)

You can always hatch your own... But get decapsulated brine shrimp eggs... Much cleaner and the fish wont choke on the shell.

    Good luck!

Does anyone have any idea what exactly could be wrong with her? Is this just a shipping related stress?

    Slow down.
No. Cirrhilabrus wrasses do not bury in the sand. They do not feed from the sand. The sand is just there.

Cirrhilabrus wrasses do stress out if they have no where to hide, especially in brighter lights. And I don't see much for hiding places in this QT.

I don't think anything is wrong with your fish, besides being freaked out and severely stressed. Putting your hand in the water and moving the fish around does nothing but make this worse.

Make the tank dim. Don't flood it with light intentionally or from the surrounding room. Use multiple pieces of PVC and make a fair number of hiding places. I only see one piece in there.

Leave it alone. It can't calm down if you continuously stress it.

Give it a few days of peace, then worry about feeding. Provided it's healthy and not stressed, this won't be any sort of a challenge.

What exactly would adding her to the DT accomplish? If she is legitimately sick, I would just be giving it to everyone else...

I don't have the tank light on, or the room light anymore. I have 2 pieces of PVC plus the sand. I can find her more PVC and clean it and add it.

There is not a whole lot of information on "ruby headed wrasse" except that it might be a female Solaris and it might be a color morph of the blue headed wrasse...so I gave her the sandbox not knowing if she would burrow or not.

sorry. thought you misread his but I misread yours.

i wouldn't force the fish into the sand. this will probably stress it further.

    Mostly correct.

Cirrhilabrus cyanopleura is what you have.

Species isn't terribly important for an issue such as this; care for Cirrhilabrus wrasses is pretty universal across the board.

Thanks, this is good to know.

I am making her more pieces of PVC. Should I still try live food? Or just give her time because I know she ate frozen both at the store and for me on Sunday?
