    No, I'm doing it because I want the tank to be done quickly :cheesy:

    I've done quite a few instant tanks and haven't run in to problems yet. This will be the first SPS one though, so we'll see...

    well I would keep those large water changes, Every time I have transfered sps atleast one would show its displeasure by having an area necrosis, which I would just break off to stop it.

    I've had the same experience and had it happen on one of the acros so far. Cut it off, and it seems to have stopped. I'm doing about 10% per/day on this one until I feel that it's mature enough to stabilize a bit.

    +1 prob gonna crash your tank w/o any bacteria build up :x

    I feel foolish to say that I didn't even think of adding a bacterial supplement which I have sitting in the room. Thanks for the suggestion!

    let me know how it turns out, im sorta new here and i own a biocube 29. its a fun hobby but can be mind boggling

    how do you think those corals will do under the LEDs? I was looking at the Retrofit kit for the 29g Biocube from RapidLED. do something like 8 cree xp-g whites and 12 cree xp-e royal blues or something for under 300 including the controller and shipping

    Not a clue yet. Curiousity was a big drive for me to try this.
