    Yes, unless you can train your fish to poop and pee from 9-5. lol

    LOL gotta love that first reponse sorry. Yes it should run 24/7 except when feeding zoo, phyto or other filter feeder foods. Then you might want it off along with reduced flow to keep the food in your DT and not in your skimmer's cup.;)

    well it seems I have a potty-trained Tomini Tang!!! He always goes in the same spot!!!

    But most will keep their skimmers on 24/7 while others may share their experience with running on a timer.

    I have mine on a shared timer with my fuge light so it runs for 9 hours. It does not really seem to pull anything beyond the 6th hour but the tank is still fairly new.

    Skimmers do a good job of oxygenating the water. Most want to turn them off at night but that is when you want it on the most because you get no O2 from photosynthisis. If your skimmer is oversized for your tank, it will not skim 24/7... but it will oxygenate 24/7.
