Has anyone ever used 2 return pumps? Like independent returns? I have the pump that's on the tank now and I have a mag7. Pretty sure it's a mag 7. Never used it before, had it for 2 years. Scenario and I are going to redo my plumbing tomorrow and I was wondering if I could get more flow with using two pumps. I don't have enough flow in my tank.

I think it's a good idea. People have run two pumps before, it also works as a good backup in case one fails. I would maybe suggest have each pump on either end of the sump with a drain in the middle, if that's possible.

i run 2 pumps on mine. one side has a 1400 gph pump, the other side has a 850 gph pump on it.
*EDIT* Let me rephrase that. Both pumps are in the end of the sump, but one goes to one return, the other goes to the other return, opposite ends of the DT.

I have 2 return pumps. But I also have 2 overflows so they can MORE than handle the flow. Just 2 Mag7s going up to the tank. I was actually thinking about putting on my third return pump I have just sitting around. Also, I have a pump going from my sump to my fuge and the fuge has an overflow going back into the sump. All 3 pumps are on the right side of the sump and the tubes from the overflows are all on the left side of the sump.

    Hopefully I described that ok...

I forgot to think about that, you may need two overflows or one large one, depending on the pump capacity.

yes you did and I'm stoked to know that this mag 7 can handle it! Cool! I will use two returns too and I'm going to do a thing like Scenario has where the return splits onto two sections, one for the front bottom and one for the top rear. I should get really decent flow!

Thanks. Yeah I've already got 2 overflows(standpipes) and 2 returns. I'm thinking the pump, I just did another thread on, doesn't push through enough for two returns. That's why I thought about the mag 7 I have. thanks!!!!!
