Alright I have been going back and forth with the idea and I thought I should post it on the forums. Is it worth it to run two skimmers in a sump. I have two skimmers both of them pretty new and they are both really decent. The only thing though is I might have to remove my sump sock? I have heard some people don't run socks and some do. Well thats my idea, let me know if it works?

Well you don't want to overskim...

IMO you still need to have some of the nutrients in the water colum.
So I would just run 1 skimmer. again that's IMO

sounds fine it just that i skimmer will skim less than the other bc it will be picking up the already skimmed water

and if they are to stong they will clean the water so good that they will stop working until the water gets dirty again

yeah i would only run one. because your bacteria will catch some of it and you would probably end up overskimming your water. just my thought.

I ran two for awhile. I didn't find that the results were useful at all. One skimmer was picking up everything and the other just wouldn't skim. They can only skim what's there. If one of your skimmers alone ever stops overflowing bubbles into the cup that means it is cleaning the water to the point that there's nothing left to skim. This means your skimmer is good enough for your tank and bio-load. If you add another skimmer to this they will stop overflowing more often, but will both be constantly running and using power. There are some people who run one dry and one wet. I also tried this but couldn't ever get them tuned too well running together.
