5/8". Then the reducer reduced it to 1/2" so I could hook it up to the chiller inlet.

 

Well I replaced everything metal with plastic! Turns out my LFS had all the valves, reducers, etc that I needed in the back... I also got carbon sponge, poly filter pad, and cuprisorb. The copper read in at .5 when I got it tested a the LFS this morning.. I guess when the polyfilter stops turning blue, i'll throw in a peppermint shrimp and see how things go.

Sorry about the big loss.....Good thing you were able to catch it afterwards though. If it were me, I'd use some hermits to test with once the copper reading is at zero. You'll probably want to do many water changes before that, and even take the rocks out and brush them heavily in a seperate container of salt water.

Definitely! And yeah. Thats a great idea. Last thing I want is the copper leaching into the rock. And the guy at the LFS said that a peppermint would do good.. More sensitive then hermits, so the results would be more accurate. By the way, is .5 too high for fish?

 

.5ppm? I think 5ppm is the medicated dose, I will have to read the directions on my bottle of meds.
