Also, I need some tips on my refugium.

I have calurpa macroalgae and its grown massively, has turned into a complete green mat over the top of my refugium. I have heard that is important to "harvest" it regularly to ensure it doesnt go sexual etc. How do I do this? Do I just get the stands and cut them in half? I have no idea?

Any help would be great :).

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Sorry to hear of your frustrations. Unusual that you would have more then one LPS experience polyp bailout, there must have been a stressing event that caused the corals to react that way. Could it be water temp, alk......

My peppermint shrimp ate all my Maxi-mini anemones in under 72 hours. Peppermints eat anemones so I guess it makes sense.

Do not be too hard on yourself with regard to the corals it happens to everyone at one time or another.

When I used to clean up my calurpa I simply just grabbed a couple hand fulls and thinned it out.

At least the algae is gone, a lot of hobbyist can not say that. :)

    Thanks corraline :).

I have been quite busy in the tank the last week or so. I had a lot of problems with one of my MP10's, kept stalling etc. Short version; I got it replaced with warranty but it wasn't before it was sent back to 3+ times still broken. So that took approximately 5 weeks. It has been three weeks since I have had the MP10 back and my tank is finally coming around the corner.

Today I went and got two new hammers and two small elegances. As well as that, a I knew bought some fish in to the LFS at the exact same time i was there. Apparantly the poor dude has to tear down his tank because hes moving away. So I actually picked up his cleaner wrasse. I had seen the tank a few times and it was very nice 75g SPS tank with two clowns, a foxface, 3 chromis and the cleaner wrasse. I chose to take the cleaner because it he has had it for more than a year and it solidly eats all flake/frozen food. + i managed to get it before it ever hit the LFS tanks.

What do you all think about this? Will post a few pics of the tank and corals up soon :).

Cool video! I am extremely jealous you can just go to the beach to collect fish, algae, and plants. That is a great looking goby you caught. The purple weed is cool too, haven't seen that available in Canada. Did the seagrass you collected make it?

Haven't collected any fish. The goby is from the LFS. But I just got that purple stuff and the green stuff I showed after that. It seems to be surviving, not sure if its growing yet.
